Silverplate goblet engraved Cornwall Bakers Federation Challenge Cup. Challenge cups were perpetual prizes, handed from one winner to the next, and I like that this one belongs to a bakers' federation. It works as a trophy on a shelf or bar cart, or as a vase for a handful of stems on a kitchen table.

The cup is slightly out of round, the result of a bend to the bowl. The foot is also dented, and the piece rocks side to side and does not sit flat. Neither is obvious at a glance, but both are there.

The interior has scattered dark marks, shown in the photograph of the inside of the bowl. The cause is not established. The interior has not been cleaned or polished and I'm leaving it as found.

The underside of the foot shows a yellow base metal where the plating appears to have worn through, with light scratches around the maker's mark and a small brown spot near the edge. The engraving to the bowl is legible. I have not tested the cup for leaks.

Please review all photographs closely, as they form part of this description.

We describe the condition of each piece as accurately as possible in the listing. If you have specific questions about a piece before purchasing, please reach out. We are always happy to provide additional photos or details.

Colors may appear slightly different on screen due to monitor settings and photography lighting. We do our best to represent each item accurately.
