This is a compact English oak sideboard from the 1910s, built low and raised on turned bobbin legs joined by an H stretcher. Two central drawers sit between a pair of cupboards, all fronted with the bold geometric applied moldings of the Jacobean revival taste. At just over four feet wide it works as easily as a hall server or console as it does in a dining room.
The case is solid oak with paneled sides and a molded top edge. Drawer and door fronts carry raised, canted rectangular panels, and the original brass drop handles and lozenge escutcheons complete the period look. The cupboards open to single fixed shelves; the drawers run on traditional wooden runners.
Sold in good, structurally sound vintage condition, solid and steady on its legs with all four bobbin-turned supports and the H stretcher intact. The finish is a later dark stain and seal, not an original surface, with overall wear consistent with age and use. The top shows scattered scratches, ring marks, and a worn, slightly chipped front edge with loss to the finish at the corners (visible in photos). The oak top surface has light surface scuffing throughout. Drawer fronts and door panels show minor knocks and edge wear; one drawer interior shows old marks and light staining. The brass drop handles and escutcheons are present throughout; escutcheons are decorative over the keyholes and no keys are present, so the locks have not been tested. The back is made up of stained boards and a panel that show handling marks, scuffs, and paint flecks, as expected for a utility surface. Wood species assessed as oak from the visible ring-porous grain on the top and sides; the darkened back panels are a secondary wood.

All antique and vintage items are shipped from our warehouse in Bluffdale, Utah. Each piece is carefully packed by hand using archival materials and custom crating when necessary.
Shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on the size and weight of the item. Local pickup is available at the AMD Warehouse.
All sales of antique and vintage items are final due to their unique, one-of-a-kind nature. Illuminé candles and The Collector's Guide may be returned within 14 days of delivery if unopened and in original condition.
