7.25" H X 5.5" diameter
A striking mid century silver plated trophy pitcher awarded by Salem Country Club, engraved Member Guest 1965 2nd Flight Consolation Winner and fitted with the club enamel crest dated 1925. The shape is modern and sculptural with a rounded goblet body on a low pedestal foot and a clever half moon lid that conceals the spout, a detail that reads as purposeful design rather than ornament. Inside is a warm gilt wash that still shows a soft glow, and the original E.B. Co. Boston paper label remains in the base, a nice maker detail for collectors.
Use it as a dramatic ice bucket, an oversized vase for seasonal blooms, or a conversation piece on a bar cart or mantle where its provenance and club crest can be admired. This piece brings a lived in, sporty history to styling while fitting cleanly with mid century and modern interiors.
Condition:
Structurally sound and ready to display, this silver plated piece shows honest age and use consistent with a utilitarian trophy. The lid has an area of plating loss from a removed sticker roughly one inch square, and the gilt interior has small spotting and surface wear from previous use. The body has light surface scratches and faint polishing marks along with a few tiny dings on the rim and base typical of a working piece. The enamel club crest is intact and legible and there are no major dents or visible repairs.
