A gallery tray by Mappin & Webb, Sheffield, silverplated on copper. The pierced gallery rail runs all four sides with a shaped serpentine profile at the short ends, where integral oval cut-out handles sit framed by a gadroon border. The floor is covered in machine-engraved scrolling acanthus and floral work surrounding a plain central cartouche, unengraved. Four ball feet on the underside. Marked on the base: Mappin & Webb, Silver Plated on Copper, Made in Sheffield, England. Edwardian period, circa 1900 to 1915.

Condition

The tray is in good condition for its age. The silverplate is holding well across the floor and the gallery rail, with copper showing through only at the outer edges of the tray, which is typical and expected wear on a piece used over many decades. The engraving is sharp and well-preserved across the entire surface. The gadroon border and pierced gallery are intact with no dents, splits, or losses. The ball feet are present and stable. No monogram or engraving in the central cartouche.

All antique and vintage items are shipped from our warehouse in Bluffdale, Utah. Each piece is carefully packed by hand using archival materials and custom crating when necessary.

Shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on the size and weight of the item. Local pickup is available at the AMD Warehouse.

All sales of antique and vintage items are final due to their unique, one-of-a-kind nature. Illuminé candles and The Collector's Guide may be returned within 14 days of delivery if unopened and in original condition.

If your piece arrives damaged, please photograph the damage immediately (including packaging), contact us within 48 hours at austynmariedesign@gmail.com, and do not discard any packaging.
