A French gilt brass oval picture frame from the Louis XVI revival period, cast with a bow-and-floral crest and continuous foliate rim molding, standing on an integral wire easel. The crest detail is exceptionally well defined, with distinct ribbon ridges, individual florets, and foliate terminals that indicate a quality casting rather than a production-grade piece. The warm, consistent gilding across the face is intact. The frame holds a green watered silk backing and a glass insert, and can be displayed on a desk or tabletop via the easel or hung from the small hanging ring on the verso.
The frame is in good antique condition. The gilding across the face is warm, bright, and consistent in tone, with no significant losses to the gilt surface visible from the front. The cast ornament on the bow crest and rim molding retains strong definition throughout. The back plate shows patina and surface oxidation consistent with age, darker in tone than the gilt front, which is typical of this construction. The wire easel is present and functional. The small hanging ring on the verso is intact. The green watered silk backing shows some light age and uneven color. The glass is present. No maker's marks or stamps are visible on the verso.

All antique and vintage items are shipped from our warehouse in Bluffdale, Utah. Each piece is carefully packed by hand using archival materials and custom crating when necessary.
Shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on the size and weight of the item. Local pickup is available at the AMD Warehouse.
All sales of antique and vintage items are final due to their unique, one-of-a-kind nature. Illuminé candles and The Collector's Guide may be returned within 14 days of delivery if unopened and in original condition.
