Antique French Striped Satinwood Keepsake Box

A small French box with a barrel-vaulted lid, a drop-ring pull, and four little ball feet, banded in pale striped wood with fine dark lines. The stripes run lengthwise along the dome and then turn to wrap the body. The interior has a yellow velvet lining with a raised padded bolster at one end, added in a recent restoration. It sits comfortably on a desk, a dresser, or a console.
The box has been restored, including a new yellow velvet lining fitted in recent years. The lining is fixed in place and does not lift out, so the wood behind it can’t be seen, and the original interior finish and fittings are not established. The front lid has a fine crack line and the back lid has another. Both are stable, with no loss and no movement. The black paper on the underside is lifting and has losses at the corners, with plain wood visible beneath. There is no key. The lid opens and closes freely, and no locking function is claimed. There is light wear to the lid edges and around the ring plate, consistent with age and not detracting.

Shipping & Returns
All antique and vintage items are shipped from our warehouse in Bluffdale, Utah. Each piece is carefully packed by hand using archival materials and custom crating when necessary.
Shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on the size and weight of the item. Local pickup is available at the AMD Warehouse.
Furniture is the exception. Because of size and weight, furniture shipping is quoted separately rather than calculated at checkout. Send a DM on Instagram or email austynmariedesign@gmail.com for a quote, or arrange your own shipping from the warehouse.
All sales of antique and vintage items are final due to their unique, one-of-a-kind nature. Illuminé candles and The Collector's Guide may be returned within 14 days of delivery if unopened and in original condition.
If your piece arrives damaged, please photograph the damage immediately (including packaging), contact us within 48 hours at austynmariedesign@gmail.com, and do not discard any packaging.
