A circular sterling silver photo frame from 1919, made in Birmingham and hallmarked at the rim. The silver front is mounted over a turned oak back with a hinged easel stand, so it sits upright on a shelf or mantel. The plain rolled molding is the whole design here, which lets the silver and the shape carry the piece.

Condition

The sterling front shows light surface scratching and handling wear consistent with age, most visible under raking light across the flat of the rim. The hallmarks are clear and fully legible except the maker's mark, which is soft. The convex dome glass is intact with no chips or cracks that I can find. The turned oak back retains its original finish with expected wear, and the hinged easel stand is present and holds the frame upright as intended. No dents or splits to the silver. The frame holds a photograph up to roughly the aperture size noted above. Please review all photographs closely, as they form part of this description.
