Condition

Sold as-is, with photos governing. This is an antique in honest used condition, cleaned and waxed, with a warm mahogany surface that has not been stripped, bleached, or sandblasted.

Brass trim: the vertical brass line trim on the bottom-right leg/stile is loose. One drawer handle is missing its base/backplate piece where it seats to the front. The remaining brass pulls, escutcheons, and the fluted column inlay are present, with light tarnish and minor lifting typical of age; inspect all images.

Wood and veneer: expected shrinkage and minor veneer movement at drawer edges and banding; small checks and surface scratches consistent with age and use, including light marks to one case side (see images). Drawer linings show genuine oxidation and hand-tool marks. Interior of the top drawer retains fabric liners, in good condition.

Marble: shaped gray/white veined top with molded edge, present with the piece. Marble on commodes of this type is frequently replaced over their life; I cannot confirm this top is original to the case. Normal edge wear and natural veining/fissures inherent to the stone; check images for chips at the edges.

Secondary wood species is assessed, not proven; the linings read as a pale hardwood (oak or fruitwood). Date is a construction-based estimate; no maker's mark was located.
