This footman is in good honest antique condition and has not been polished or restored. The brass shows extensive surface oxidation throughout, with mottled dark spotting and areas of dull greenish tarnish across the top and sides. There is verdigris along the apron edges and on the interior. The rear legs and interior frame are iron and show real rust and surface scaling consistent with age and years of hearth use. The hinged top sits very slightly proud at the back edge but is fully functional. The high points of the cabriole legs show attractive wear where the brass has been handled and rubbed brighter over time. All four legs and both ring handles are present and secure. No cracks or splits. No maker's mark was found. The piece can be polished to a brighter finish or left as it is, depending on your taste.

All antique and vintage items are shipped from our warehouse in Bluffdale, Utah. Each piece is carefully packed by hand using archival materials and custom crating when necessary.
Shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on the size and weight of the item. Local pickup is available at the AMD Warehouse.
All sales of antique and vintage items are final due to their unique, one-of-a-kind nature. Illuminé candles and The Collector's Guide may be returned within 14 days of delivery if unopened and in original condition.
If your piece arrives damaged, please photograph the damage immediately (including packaging), contact us within 48 hours at austynmariedesign@gmail.com, and do not discard any packaging.
