Antique Ebonized Monogram Wax Seal Stamp

An antique desk seal with a black turned handle and an oval brass face engraved with an interlaced script monogram inside a double line border. It was cut as a personal seal, and the letters still read as a tidy tangle of loops. The handle flares from a narrow neck into a domed top, a shape that fits the hand well.
The black finish has worn through at the top of the knob, leaving pale flecks and fine scratches, and brown wood shows at the edge of the rim and the collar. The handle carries light scratching along its length. The brass face has light pitting and spotting at the edge, and the mount shows rubbing and tarnish. The engraving is crisp but carries fine surface scratches. The matrix has not been tested in wax, so whether the monogram is cut in reverse is not established, and I have not named the letters. I could find no maker’s mark, hallmark, or retailer’s label anywhere on the piece. Please review all photographs closely, as they form part of this description.

Shipping & Returns
All antique and vintage items are shipped from our warehouse in Bluffdale, Utah. Each piece is carefully packed by hand using archival materials and custom crating when necessary.
Shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on the size and weight of the item. Local pickup is available at the AMD Warehouse.
Furniture is the exception. Because of size and weight, furniture shipping is quoted separately rather than calculated at checkout. Send a DM on Instagram or email austynmariedesign@gmail.com for a quote, or arrange your own shipping from the warehouse.
All sales of antique and vintage items are final due to their unique, one-of-a-kind nature. Illuminé candles and The Collector's Guide may be returned within 14 days of delivery if unopened and in original condition.
If your piece arrives damaged, please photograph the damage immediately (including packaging), contact us within 48 hours at austynmariedesign@gmail.com, and do not discard any packaging.
