I want to be straightforward about the finish on this one, because it is different from an untouched piece. At some point in its life the original surface was scraped back and a new glossy black finish was applied. That refinish is not perfectly even. There are brush drips and some pooling of the finish along the molded edge, and black overpaint carried onto the underside edges and the feet. To my eye the piece reads clean and glossy rather than aged, which some buyers will prefer and others will not, so I want you to see it clearly in the photos and know exactly what it is. The underside shows the scraped earlier surface and carries old pencil inscription and stock numbers, which are old markings from the piece's earlier life, not a maker. It sits flat and stable on its four bun feet with no rock, and the feet are solid. No sign of active woodworm. Please review all photographs closely, as they form part of this description.
