Thomas Moore's collected poetry in a Victorian illustrated edition published by Routledge, Warne, and Routledge, London and New York, 1863. The volume gathers Moore's full lyric range, the Odes of Anacreon, juvenile poems, Irish Melodies, sacred songs, and selections from Lalla Rookh, alongside an abridged life of the author. The binding is the appeal here, red leather with deeply blind-stamped ornamental panels, gilt "Moore" centered on the front cover, raised spine bands with star-and-diamond tooling, gilt spine title reading Poems by Moore, and all edges gilt. A handsome mid-Victorian gift-book edition of one of Ireland's defining literary voices.
The binding presents well overall with bright color and crisp gilt on both the front cover and spine. Visible wear includes fraying and exposure of the underlying material along the spine edges where the leather meets the boards, most pronounced at the head and tail of the spine and along the front and rear hinges. The corners show rubbing with minor exposure at the tips. The text block edges remain bright with all edges gilt intact. Please confirm in hand: hinge security and any cracking, presence of all 8 engraved plates per the HathiTrust record for comparable Routledge editions, any loose or detached pages, inscriptions or ownership markings on endpapers and pastedowns, and any odor or staining beyond light foxing and age toning.

All antique and vintage items are shipped from our warehouse in Bluffdale, Utah. Each piece is carefully packed by hand using archival materials and custom crating when necessary.
Shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on the size and weight of the item. Local pickup is available at the AMD Warehouse.
All sales of antique and vintage items are final due to their unique, one-of-a-kind nature. Illuminé candles and The Collector's Guide may be returned within 14 days of delivery if unopened and in original condition.
