The cause is not established. The interior has not been cleaned or polished and I'm leaving it as found.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003eThe underside of the foot shows a yellow base metal where the plating appears to have worn through, with light scratches around the maker's mark and a small brown spot near the edge. The engraving to the bowl is legible.
