The underside shows old solder repair work at the foot attachment points, done at some point during the piece's working life and stable. There is no crack or hole through the body. The exterior is unpolished and shows two zones of color, a brighter copper across the upper half and a darker oxidized tone below, with light surface marks throughout. The interior is unpolished and shows the patina, oxidation, and small spots of green verdigris that come from long use as a planter.
