The hand engraving is crisp and the beaded borders are intact. The one issue to know about is the lid. The original hinge is missing entirely, so the lid is now a separate lift off cover rather than a hinged one. It sits flush and flat on top of the body and looks correct in place, but it is not attached and does not swing open on a hinge. The soldering where the hinge once joined has come apart. Aside from the missing hinge, the piece shows only light surface scratching and handling marks consistent with age and normal use.
