The original gilt finish is largely intact across the front and sides, with expected wear on the high points and verdigris settled into the recessed areas, especially across the pierced gallery and underside. The original roll bar that would have spanned the side brackets is missing, so the holder is not currently functional as is. A buyer can easily fit a wooden dowel or a standard spring-loaded replacement rod between the brackets to return it to use. The two mounting holes through the back plate are clear and original.
