The mahogany holds a warm color with light surface marks and small nicks across the staves. There is a visible seam line where two staves meet, which is normal for coopered construction and not a split through the body. The brass bands, handle, and mounts are all present and secure, with age-appropriate tarnish and a few small dents and scratches. The removable brass liner shows tarnish, minor denting, and surface marks inside and out consistent with use. The handle swings freely and the liner lifts out and seats back in cleanly.
